Many car accidents in Illinois and other states occur as a result of a driver’s negligent actions or the driver losing control of the vehicle. There are various types of accidents that can result in different injuries or even death. Details have been released after a study by researchers at the University of Michigan that give a better indication of the anatomy of a car accident.

One type of accident involves hitting someone on accident when rolling through a red light to turn right. This is an accident that involves more pedestrians getting hit than other types. A solution is to come to a complete stop, look both ways multiple times and turn slowly.

There are some drivers who fall asleep while they are behind the wheel. Some solutions include not driving late at night, getting at least seven hours of sleep the night before driving, and keeping something in the car to keep the driver awake. At times, the driver simply loses control of the car. This could be because of a mechanical failure or because the driver is distracted and loses control. There are times when larger vehicles block the intersection, resulting in a driver being involved in a car accident. Drivers can also rear-end other cars or depart the lane they are driving in, causing a collision and possibly injuries.

Drivers or passengers who have been injured in a car accident may wish to seek the assistance of a personal injury attorney to receive compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and lost wages. An attorney may also be able to seek compensation if an accident results in the death of a family member.
